The Heineken Scam

Users of WhatsApp in the United Kingdom are being sent a hoax message that purports to be an “offer” and claims that a well-known beverage firm is giving away free beverage kegs.

The message demands you to click on a link to their bogus website, where you will then be shown a message that reads “HEINEKEN STAY at HOME with 4 FREE kegs of beverage (probably Heineken Cooler Competition Scam),” after which you will be prompted to fill out a survey that will take no more than one minute to be eligible for the giveaway.

More Details:

The phishing prank is spreading on the popular messaging programme WhatsApp. It encourages users to divulge their personal information so that it may be saved and stolen later.

Unfortunately, you won’t get any freebies out of it; all you’ll get is a hacked official bank account and stolen money instead. The scam has been around since 2018, and it’s been around since then.

When did this Free Heineken scheme first begin?

In 2018, individuals began getting fraudulent Heineken correspondence. However, the hackers seem to have rebranded the hoax. They are now using the COVID-19 lockdown as the primary focus of the message. They also claim to be giving out free beverage to urge people to remain inside.

In 2018, Heineken publicly acknowledged that the WhatsApp fraud was fiction. Immediately after the beginning of the fraud, Heineken stated to the public the matter.

They said that the campaign indicates that Heineken is giving out free kegs in honour of its 140th anniversary, and recipients of Codegreen Solutions Data Entry are encouraged to share the news with others.
