  • Next, add four cups of all-purpose flour, two eggs, and one teaspoon of kosher salt and vanilla extract. 
  • Place the mixed dough of Bomboloni Volcano on a greased bowl, cover with a cling wrap, and rest for one hour.
  • Roll out the dough with a thickness of half inches. 
  • Use a cutter of three inches diameter and cut out the doughnuts. 
  • Place the round cut-outs onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Rest for an hour to rise.
  • Heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit on a heavy-bottomed pan.
  • Deep fry the bombolonis on each side for two to three minutes till a golden-brown tinge. You should fry in batches without crowding the pan.
  • The final part of the Bomboloni Recipe is to coat the doughnuts with sugar and line them on the baking sheet for filling.
  • Now, you can use either pastry cream or Nutella to fill the bomboloni.
