According to online sources, it is reported that many people have received a message from an unknown number asking for a shipping fee of 1.45 euros to receive their parcel. If they fail to do so, their parcel will be returned. In that message, the scammers also attached a counterfeit Evri website where they asked the people to enter their bank details. Some people have fallen into the trap and lost their money.

Technical officials stated this type of scam is known as smishing. And Evri delivery company acknowledged that. And scammers have been sending messages stating that people must pay the redelivery fee. 

If we notice the trick of this scam, the scammers are asking for a very small amount. But here, the issue is that they send a web-hooked website that steals the banking details of the person who clicks the link, so they ask the people to fill in the banking details for stealing their money unknowingly. According to the cyber officials, the scammers’ messages are from the numbers 44(756)8963015 and (739) 4194403.

Reporting the scam

The Evri Shipping Fee Scam could be prevented on a large scale if people started reporting it to the officials.

  • People are advised not to click any links in the scam message but to take a screenshot and send that image to the Evri delivery services technical support team. They can also send the image or screenshot to the 7726 toll-free number.
  •  If suppose you have clicked the link by mistake, kindly don’t panic, visit your nearer police station and report the issue and also contact your bank officials to freeze your bank accounts.
